What is it about? …
Mahou Tsukai Haley no Speed Story, an old setting anime with "witches," brooms, and speed. Moreover, it's really rare and quite a unique opportunity for both the Japanese studio and the English fansubbing community to get their hands on a supposedly upcoming TV Series with the animation and visual quality of Studio Ghibli films (and in HD – 720p from Nippon Animation). Slated to be 26-episodes long, I've come across the fact that it doesn't have a decent synopsis of the story any place. So, I thought I would attempt to write one based on an "Engrish" (or a literal Google translation) from a Japanese media site.
The main (female) character's name is Haley. She attends a magic school in which she partakes in a competition with magical brooms. There she meets a boy aka classmate name Peter (presumably the boy in the cover). The teachers there mention that [the glasses speed measurement invented was called "magical goggles."] This has put creatures in the same playing field as ["speed" while measuring and can be measured rapidly and most will compete for this].
Peter becomes obsessed with the race and decided to run away from [the magical world to the human world]. Eventually, the two come across a flying object at a incredible speed. [Now, the identity of the body?!]
I'm not sure about the parts in brackets, it can be interpreted in so many ways that I pretty much left it as the original. But the gist seems to pretty simple. A boy and a girl encounter each other via school and decide to go on a journey regarding speed. In fact, the screening for this anime intends to show audiences and teach children that watch this anime the PHYSICS of speed in the real world. Apparently, it is supposed to be educational. Very interesting.
