Missing the point!

19 03 2010

I just finished watching the movie, Super Size Me, and I noticed through some various number of comments, people (most probably obese, fat, or overweight as well) are missing the point of the movie. It is not about that fast food can make you fat, it is not about how fast food is unhealthy, which everyone that have the education on it know, and it is not about how America is the #1 country in the world with the most obese, fat, and overweight people, which it is as well.

The point was to get across a number of reasons which were for you to ponder about based from the metaphors. First and foremost, they could have just made the documentary flat out, pointing fingers at those responsible at what they are doing is wrong, and on, and on, but no one wants a documentary to be in a lawsuit, especially if it is a low budget one, nor does one want to owe any money when one can't afford it.

The first point that came in my mind introduced in the very beginning and then stated again at the end of the movie was how the government has one authority, at least in the United States, and inadvertently also in Canada (because we are dogs of the US), unfortunately, over the ability to decide or rather force corporates themselves to have the final power over the people – meaning, how in the end it was stated a new Bill in the US negated any lawsuit against food corporates by people who claim fast food can make you fat.

Secondly, even though it is showing that fast food is unhealty, it is also showing how eating fast food is the direct source to why people that think "Why can't I became like this model?" force upon themselves their overweight physique in the first place. People are ignorant and forget that their eating lifestyle, not just the food itself, is why they can't change even with dieting or exercising.

And third, and to understand this more, one needs to watch the movie Food, inc. to get clarity, people should question the food source. How the food is being made, from where is it coming from, and what exactly does it contain other than the jargon listed by said corporates. For example, chickens for the fast food industry, how are they being made, surely they can't be born and ready for someone's plate within a matter of weeks – what more is there to it? Drugs? Where is the food coming from? Any example one can question is about corn. According to the documentary movie, Food, inc. corn appears to be on almost every produced ingredient in the US, especially for a specific company – that makes almost any kind of food, whether it be packed, tinned, bagged, or "fresh." Furthermore, what does these foods contain besides their listed "ingredients"? Chemicals to make you eat more of it? Direct sources of poison that are sources of cholesterol, fat, and other junk? That is something to think about and surely something you may want to research and test on your own…

Lastly, a little test I want to leave to you for anybody thinking of losing weight the REAL way. Not by exercising, not by dieting, but from the most simplest of way, although you absolutely need the mindset to achieve it because even though it works, it will test your ability to hold back.

From my own experience, even though I am underweight since age 10, I have found that not eating at all can make you lose weight but with some sort of physical activity, whether it be walking via grocery shopping, errands, etc, playing video games, keeping your mind active with something complicated or hard, i.e. Chess, and therefore sweating, having sex, or other small activities other than direct exercise which most people don't have time for nor can do it on a routine basis. What do I mean by not eating at all? Exactly what is says, but of course to be healthy you need food, and therefore eating only once a day, preferably in the morning or at lunch time. What kind of food? Anything other way meat. If you like don't like vegetables, eat fruits and fish. Eat rice as well, but make sure you cook it properly so it doesn't have much starch at all. There are many healthy foods out there which are not a factor to being overweight and can be very tasty and addictive, so find one and stick to it. Oh, and make sure to go to the loo at least once a day as well; it will help with changing your entire metabolism.

About me: I have a very high metabolism. Any food that I eat gets processed in my body so fast, no matter how much fat or energy it has, it doesn't add any more than if I did a one-mile run. I am able to lose 5 lbs (pounds) in a couple of months than gain 10 lbs (pounds) in a whole year, although apparently, as you get older even if you eat less, somehow you gain weight regardless, so keep that in mind. That's something you can't control, unless your anorexic or alike. So I may be underweight now, but as I get older I will keep gaining permanent weight – this is usually known as cholesterol aka the bad oil/fat. And of course, this comes from oily foods. So, try my plan out and see if it works, if it does for me, it can for you. I wasn't born underweight, at one point I was over, so it is more than possible.
